'Now, why did I choose to call this book 'Imperfect Leadership'? It's a strange title. I chose to call it that because I think imperfect leadership is the best way to describe my own leadership and that's not something I'm embarrassed about or ashamed of. In fact, I'm proud to be an imperfect leader because I have a problem with this idea of perfect leadership'. Dr Steve Munby

AISNT Leadership Program: 2024

In 2024 AISNT will facilitate a leadership development program in both Alice Springs and Darwin for those in middle leadership positions, those aspiring to hold leadership positions in schools and teachers wishing to work towards HALT accreditation.

The Collective of Learners program aims to provide current and emerging leaders within schools the opportunity to learn as a collective, building on the expertise of others, to develop a school-based project that adds to the strategic direction of their school. Participants will be immersed in the transformative power of inquiry, professional learning centred on collaborative meaning making. This will better enable them to reflect on their practice or the practices of the school, utilising the knowledge of strengths of others within the group to assist them to assess if what is currently in place in their school is working or if changes are needed, and to help them challenge any assumptions that may underpin current thinking.

Over the seven days of the program participants will utilise a design cycle to develop a project, negotiated at the school level, which adds value to the school and provides them an opportunity to develop as leaders and practitioners. Throughout the project participants will reflect on themselves as leaders and how to best lead the project within the school.
