Professional Learning

AISNT creates and delivers high quality Professional Learning including seminars, hands-on workshops, study tours, and licenced/partnership training initiatives. We have ongoing relationships with top providers including the Pop-Up Foundation, The Brown Collective, the Centre for School Leadership at Charles Darwin University, Cognition Education in New Zealand, and MindStretchers in Scotland.

Our Professional Learning is aligned with national strategic priorities, with an emphasis on supporting quality leadership and teaching, improving educational outcomes for Indigenous youth and disadvantaged young Australians, promoting world class curriculum and assessment, sustainability and relationship-based education.

Andy Hair, a physical education and physical literacy coach, is coming to Darwin in November to present two half-day workshops, for Primary and Middle Years teachers. The cost of the workshop is $35 for ACHPER members and $70 for non-members.

The workshops will focus on:

- Guided discovery & inquiry pedagogy in Physical Education

- Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) - enhancing physical literacy through game-like activities in an inclusive, non-threatening, highly motivational environment

- Engagement with build phases of Game Sense understandings.
