Looking at our schools through the lens of the Gonski report

AISNT has published its survey of the state of play in NT Independent Schools, assessing where our schools are at with regard to the findings and recommendations of the Through Growth to Achievement report which was released last week. This is the report from the Review to Achieve Educational Excellence in Australian Schools, conducted under the Chairmanship of Mr David Gonski AC.

“We are pleased that the Through Growth to Achievement report provides a workable blueprint for future education reform,” said Gail Barker, Association of Independent Schools of the Northern Territory (AISNT) Executive Director. “We are also gratified that the report promotes certain things that have been features of Independent schools in the Territory for a significant amount of time, such as the importance of professional learning, and the push for greater autonomy for principals and schools."
