NT Curriculum Framework (NTCF)
Schools in the Northern Territory from all sectors of education use the Northern Territory Curriculum Frameworks.
The NTCF identifies learning outcomes Transition to Year 10, describes what learners are expected to achieve and is used to determine what learners have achieved.
The NTCF is an overarching document to guide schools in:
Providing a curriculum that maximises the capacity of all learners to achieve the standards described in the NTCF;
Using evidence based teaching and learning pedagogies to close the gap between learner's current achievement levels and targeted outcomes;
Assessing, monitoring and evaluating learners' progress and achievement against NTCF standards using processes to support consistency of teachers' judgements.
The NTCF covers the eight nationally agreed key learning areas which are English, Health and Physical Education, Languages, Mathematics, Science, Studies of Society and Environment, Technology and the Arts.
