A Message from Chris Tudor, AISNT Chair
The Independent Schools of the Northern Territory are a collection of diverse, dynamic and enthusiastic establishments dedicated to ensuring that Territory children have the same opportunities available to them as children in the more populated parts of Australia.
The Independent sector has grown significantly since it’s inception in the 1980s and has provided strong leadership in so many aspects of Territory Education.
Furthermore, I am proud to say that Territory Independent school educators have played a leading role in the national and international education arenas.
Students from Territory Independent Schools have successfully moved into Tertiary training and apprenticeships and are now spread throughout not only the Northern Territory, but the world, making a fine contribution to their communities.
Independent school students traditionally go on to universities throughout Australia – some overseas.
Territory Independent schools have also tackled the challenging areas of education – being active in Indigenous Education, Special Education and Boarding. Our sector is now an integral part of the progressive infrastructure of the Northern Territory and is a vital part of the Northern Territory’s future.
